REQUEST FOR MEMBERSHIP

Under the new Congressional Act known as the Legion Act, all military veterans today who have served honorably are eligible for membership in the American Legion.  This includes all Honorably discharged veterans and any on active duty member of the military or National Guard member who has served at least 1 day under Federal Pay (this includes boot camp or any training under Federal Pay).  These dates will be in effect until Congress determines that all hostilities of ceased)

The dates of service required for Eligibility are:

• Dec. 31, 1946 - Present

• April 6, 1918 - Nov. 11, 1918

As the American Legion holds a U.S. Congressional Charter and is, by charter, a war time association, these dates are determined by the U.S.Congress.

Once we receive your request we will notify, either the post of your choice other appropriate post in Franklin County.  They will contact you shortly
